Wisdom is Justified of All Her Children (Matthew 11:19; Luke 7:35)

I. True wisdom: not appearance, but action

  1. Wisdom is known by its result, not its outward look.
  2. John the Baptist vs. Jesus.
  3. “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” (James 3:17)

II. The children of wisdom: the living proof

  1. The “children” are those whose lives are changed by God’s truth.
  2. A tree is known by its fruit; wisdom is known by its followers.
  3. “For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.” (Proverbs 8:35)
  4. “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matthew 7:20)

III. The world’s judgement is meaningless

  1. The world’s criticism of God’s ways really doesn’t matter.
  2. Our Role: Our transformed lives justify God’s wisdom to a watching world.
  3. “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (1 Corinthians 1:25)
