I. Our Times of Despair (Acts 27:13-20)

2. Disaster is the natural outcome (Acts 27:14-17)
3. Decision through careful evaluation (Acts 27:18-19; Rom. 8:28; 2 Cor. 4:17)

II. Our Times of Danger (Acts 27:29a)

1. They can make us stronger (Job 1:20-22; Lk. 22:31-32; Matt. 26:69-75)
2. They can weaken or destroy us (Acts 27:29)

III. Our Times of Deliverance (Acts 27:21-44)

1. Get Anchored (Acts 27:29b)
   • The presence of God (Acts 27:23; Matt. 28:20; Heb. 13:5; Jn. 6:16-21)
   • The promises of God are steadfast and true (Acts 27:24-25; Rom. 4:21;
     Ps. 30:5; 34:19; Rom. 8:18,28; 2 Cor. 12:9; Rev. 21:4; Psa. 119:89)
   • The providence of God (Acts 27:24; Psa. 57:1; Isa. 25:4 Jer. 29:11)
2. Accept the storm (Acts 27:30-40; 1 Pet. 5:6; Jas. 4:10)
3. Await the deliverance (Acts 27:41-44; 1 Cor. 15:58)

IV. Our Four Spiritual Anchors

1. Anchor on our relationship with God (2 Tim. 1:12; Job 13:15)
2. Anchor on the Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16)
3. Anchor with the people of God (Eccl. 4:9-12; Acts 27:2-3)
4. Anchor with patient endurance (Heb. 10:36; Matt. 10:22; Jas. 1:12; Rev. 3:21; 2 Tim. 4:7)
