Moving on to Spiritual Maturity (1 Corinthians 2:14-3:3)

I. The natural man (1 Corinthians 2:14)

1. Unreceptive to spiritual truth (Luke 19:10; 2 Corinthians 4:3; Romans 5:8; 1 Timothy 1:15; Romans 3:23; Romans 3:10; Galatians 3:22)
2. Unable to grasp spiritual truth (Ephesians 2:1-3; John 8:44; Matthew 7:21-23)
3. Unsaved and condemned (John 3:18-20; Psalms 9:17; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Mark 9:43-48; Matthew 10:28; Luke 16:19-31)

II. The spiritual man (1 Corinthians 2:15-16)

1. Spiritually discerning (1 Corinthians 2:15; John 16:13)
2. Submissive to God’s Word (1 Corinthians 2:16; Job 23:12)
3. Spiritually transformed by the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:2; Ezekiel 36:26)

III. The carnal man (1 Corinthians 3:1-3)

1. Spiritually immature (1 Corinthians 3:1; 1 Corinthians 1:2; Hebrews 5:11)
2. Spiritual and relational dysfunction (1 Corinthians 3:2-3; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:24; Galatians 5:17; James 3:16; Romans 7:18-25; Romans 6:11-16; Matthew 5:23-24; Matthew 18:21-22; Luke 17:3-5; Ephesians 4:27; 1 John 1:9)
