I. God will reveal our lifework (1 Corinthians 3:10-13)

  1. How we build our work (1 Corinthians 3:10; 1 Corinthians 3:5-8; Matthew 16:18; John 19:30; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Corinthians 4:2; 1 Peter 4:10)
  2. The materials used will be revealed (1 Corinthians 3:12; Hebrews 6:10; Matthew 10:41-42; Hebrews 13:17; James 3:1; 1 Corinthians 12:4, 11; 1 Peter 4:10; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7; 2 Corinthians 16:2; Malachi 3:8-10; Psalms 90:12; 1 Peter 1:17; Romans 8:18; 2 Corinthians 4:17; Matthew 5:11-12; Mark 10:29-30; Hebrews 12:1; 1 Corinthians 9:24; Philippians 2:16; Philippians 3:13-14; Daniel 12:3; 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20; 2 Timothy 4:8)

II. God will evaluate the quality of our service (1 Corinthians 3:14)

  1. Based on only right foundation (1 Corinthians 3:14a)
  2. He will receive us (1 Corinthians 9:25; 1 Thessalonians 2:19; 2 Timothy 4:8; 1 Peter 5:4; Mark 9:41; Matthew 25:34-40; Revelations 4:9-11)

III. Believers’ works that fail the “test of fire” (1 Corinthians 3:15)

  1. “If any man’s work shall be BURNED, …” (1 Corinthians 3:15a; Revelations 21:4)
  2. “…he shall SUFFER LOSS:…” (1 Corinthians 3:15a; 1 Corinthians 10:31)
  3. “…but he himself shall be SAVED; yet so by fire.” (1 Corinthians 3:15b, c)
