The Urgency of Holy Living (Romans 13:11-14)

I. To watch diligently (Romans 13:11)

1. Watch where we are now in God’s prophetic calendar: ‘Time” or “season of time” (Romans 13:11Aa Matthew 24:42-44)
2. Watch out for the dangers of spiritual slumber: “It is high time” (Romans 13:11b)
3. Watchh for Christ’s sure and imminent return: “Now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” (Romans 13:11c)]

II. To prepare for spiritual warfare (Romans 13:12)

1. We are living in a critical time (Romans 13:12a Revelations 12:12)
2. We are to uphold holiness (Romans 13:12b; Colossians 3:1-13; Galatians 5:16-26)

III. To walk in Godly fear (Romans 13:13)

1. With consecrated life “walk honestly” “as in the day” (Romans 13:13)
2. With honourable conduct (Romans 13:13b; Galatians 5:21; 1 Peter.4:3)

IV. To put on Christ (Romans 13:14)

1. Take on Christ’s characters and virtues (Ephesians 1:12-13; 1 John 2:6; Ephesians 4:13)
2. Reject desires of the flesh (James 1:14-15; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Romans 6:14; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 4:4; 1 Corinthians 15:57)
