Two Masters, Two Destinies (Romans 6:15-23)

I. Carnality versus Spirituality (Romans 6:15-16)

  1. Our rebellious past (Romans 6:15)
  2. Our spiritual conversion to God (Romans 12:1-2; Romans 6:16)

II. Changed from glory to glory (Romans 6:17-18)

  1. We were once servants of sin (Romans 6:17a; Ephesians 2:1-3)
  2. We can now gain freedom as servants of righteousness (Romans 6:17b; Revelations 3:20; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 6:18; Revelations 5:9; Galatians 4:5; 1 Peter 1:18-19)

III. Challenge to live godly for Christ (Romans 6:19)

  1. Yield not to uncleanness and iniquity (mind and bodies) (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
  2. Yield to righteousness and holiness (Romans 6:13, 16, 19)

IV. Contrasting outcomes of unbelievers and saints in Christ (Romans 6:20-23)

  1. Fruits of unrighteousness – Death (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 7:18; Romans 6:21, 23; 2 Peter 3:9)
  2. Fruits of holiness – Everlasting life (Romans 6:22; John 15:1-8; John 5:24)
